Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Turnt Golf (“Turnt,” “we,” or “us”) is a golf scoring, private-group chat, and Day-hosting service. This policy explains the data Turnt handles, why it is used, who processes it, how long it is kept, and your choices.
Data we handle
- Account and profile: email, name, optional mobile number, consent records, profile photo, GHIN number, handicap information, golf-club and profile preferences.
- Days and scorekeeping: rosters, courses and tees, scores, game configuration, standings, settlements, invitations, attendance, and organizer or scorer actions.
- Private-group content: chat messages, replies, reports, photos, and generated Cart Chirps. If you separately join the custom-voice beta, Turnt also handles the voice sample and voice identifier needed to provide it.
- Device and service records: session and invite credentials, linked profile identities across roster copies, push tokens and preferences, app version, device/platform signals, product events, errors, crash reports, security logs, and request metadata.
- Subscription records: store, product identifier, subscription status, renewal state, current-period dates, environment, and the store management URL.
Some player cards are created by a Day organizer before that golfer has an account. The organizer is responsible for entering appropriate roster information and sharing it only with the private group that needs it.
Payments and subscriptions
Apple charges for Turnt Host purchases made in the iOS app. RevenueCat receives the Apple purchase receipt and reports the resulting subscription state to Turnt. Turnt stores that state against a pseudonymous Supabase user UUID in its subscription tables, including the product identifier, store, status, period dates, and management URL. Turnt never receives your card number, bank-account details, or Apple ID credentials.
How we use data
We use data to authenticate accounts, run and settle Days, deliver private-group features, determine server-authorized Host access, provide support, deliver opted-in communications, prevent abuse and duplicate Free Host Days, diagnose failures, secure the service, and meet store or legal obligations. Turnt does not sell personal data or use mobile opt-in data for third-party advertising.
Website measurement
When you visit a public website page, a first-party cookie keeps the first page path, a broad source category (such as Google, Bing, an AI assistant, referral, campaign, or unknown), and the visit time for up to 30 minutes across our website and app subdomain. We use product events to understand public page views, links clicked, and whether signed-in web accounts go on to play. A signed-in event can be associated with your account identifier. These events do not include search terms, full referring URLs, campaign values, or round-access tokens, and a store-link click does not tell us whether you installed the app. This website measurement is disabled when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Blocking cookies also prevents this attribution.
To count how many people install the app but never create an account, the app records, once per install, that it was first opened and when the sign-in screen was first shown. These two records hold only the platform (iPhone, Android or web) and a random install number stored on your device; they are never linked to your account. Deleting the app removes that number.
Location
Turnt asks for your device's location only when you tap the button to find golf courses near you. Your latitude and longitude go to our server, which sends them to OpenStreetMap's public Overpass service to look up golf courses nearby. That request comes from our server, not your device, and does not include your name, account, or any other identifier. Turnt does not save your location to your account or our database. You can decline the location prompt and search for a course by name instead.
Service providers
- Supabase provides authentication, database, and file storage.
- Vercel hosts and operates the web service.
- Apple and RevenueCat process iOS purchases and subscription state.
- OpenAI provides Cart Chirp text, Damage Report roasts, content moderation, and supported photo-assisted imports.
- ElevenLabs provides Cart Chirp audio and the optional custom-voice beta.
- Resend delivers email sign-in codes and invitations.
- Telnyx delivers opted-in text messages.
- Firebase provides push delivery and Crashlytics diagnostics in the native app.
- GolfCourseAPI supplies course and tee information used for scorekeeping.
- OpenStreetMap (Overpass) finds golf courses near a location you choose to share, as described under Location.
Course data
Course locations contain information from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Some course scorecards contain data from OpenGolfAPI, also under the ODbL; we copy that data into our own course list and send OpenGolfAPI no information about you.
Retention and deletion
Account and profile data is kept while your account is active. Shared Day records and scores remain available to the private group after account deletion, but the deleted golfer's profile is anonymized and no longer linked to the deleted login. Optional custom-voice provider data and stored samples are removed on a best-effort basis during deletion; Turnt reports when that external cleanup could not be confirmed.
Client-error records are automatically removed after 90 days, and emailed owner-alert records after 180 days. A one-way HMAC receipt derived from the account email remains after deletion to prevent a recreated account from receiving a second Free Host Day; the receipt does not contain the email. Sanitized RevenueCat webhook evidence may retain the deleted pseudonymous UUID so delayed or replayed store events cannot recreate the user or grant access. Other operational and shared-game records are kept only as needed to provide the service, maintain security and billing integrity, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.
Mobile information & SMS
If you opt in to text messages, we use your mobile number only for the transactional messages you requested, such as Day invitations and score or round updates. We collect the number and a timestamped record of consent. Any promotional program would require a separate, explicit opt-in.
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes under any circumstances. Mobile opt-in data is excluded from the third-party sharing described above. We only share your number with the messaging provider that delivers our texts on our behalf, solely to send the messages you requested.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. See our Terms of Service for the full messaging terms.
Your rights
You can correct profile data in the app and delete your account from Profile or the public account-deletion page after signing in. Deletion is available even when a subscription is active, but deleting a Turnt account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Review and use the store management link shown before final confirmation. You may also request access to or correction of your data by emailing the contact below.
